Didgeridoo and friends

Dachambo, the everything band

Japanese jam-band Dachambo pulls off the rather unlikely feat of using a six-person ensemble and a range of instruments that includes a didgeridoo (along with a more typical guitar/drum mix) to produce an intense live sound incorporating elements from psychedelia, heavy metal, prog rock (I’m convinced that Yes lurks in some riffs), and funk. It’s an “everything” approach to composition (or jamming) that somehow just works.

Go here to listen to a mix of their songs on Samurai.fm, or here for tracks on Myspace. The video below shows Dachambo playing “Salvia Olivia” at ARTh camp 2010 (enjoy the change of pace around the 7:30 mark).
